Carved Oak Throne Style Stools
These
stools, or thrones as we like to call them, can be a
stylish addition to any garden seating arrangement.
With imagination they can also compliment a conservatory
or be used as dining room furniture.
Deliberately constructed without
the use of hand planes the overall effect, we believe,
provides a sensible, rustic finish. Each seat itself
is cut and constructed from thick material. The shaped,
upper leg sections protrude directly through the seat
and are firmly wedged, glued in place and finished flush.
A solid slab of oak stretches between the ends and is
held steady by the two, shaped pegs.
Once completed the thrones are
left in their natural state to weather down to a mellow
colour. Occasional treatments with clear preservatives
will ensure they last for a goodly number of years.
Oil can be applied to help shed surface waters if desired.
The thrones are usually made in
pairs or sets to order. The examples show are single
seats, the most popular. We do make double and treble
seaters also. Please contact us to discuss your specific
needs.
